What is Eye on Science?
Welcome to Eye on Science! We are Lakehead University's student-led, cross-campus, science-focused quarterly newsletter. This project seeks to create interdisciplinary opportunities that enable students to develop excellent writing and science communication skills.
Writing for Eye on Science can involve interviewing staff, faculty, and students here at Lakehead about their research, as well as reporting on new discoveries and relevant work beyond the Lakehead walls. It can also include writing pieces about your own research, or any science-related topics that interest you.
Students in STEM-related fields are encouraged to build their communication skills by volunteering their own pieces of writing. English, media studies majors, and any other interested non-STEM students are also encouraged to hone their skills by conducting interviews with researchers, editing, supporting the newsletter's creative design, and more.
We are actively looking for executives, as well as volunteer writers for our quarterly editions. Interested students are encouraged to explore our website for more information.
